Slam by Nick Horny

Bookreview: Slam
The book is written by Nick Hornby. He is a very popular author in England.

The story is about a boy. He’s name is Sam and he is 16-year old. Sam think he’s live is very boring. He lives with his mom. Sam loves skating and Tony Hawk. He writes to him, and Tony answers back. Sam tries to concentrate on college, but he has met someone, and her name is Alicia. One day Sam gets Alicia accidentally pregnant. Sam doesn’t want to be a teenage dad, so at first he wants to run away, but he postpone instead and try to find the one who can help him: Tony Hawk. Sam turns to his hero, and believes the answers to life’s can be found in Hawk’s autobiography. Through his magical powers, Tony Hawk whizzes Sam to the future on three different occasions to show that his life will not be as bleak as it appears, but still difficult.

The book is funny approach to an all too common problem of teen pregnancy. It focuses on the life-changing decisions that must be made by these teens. This was a book worth waiting for and I recommend it for Young Adults of all ages.
